Global Climate Solution Stocks

Luminex Plc is an engineering firm that generates a majority of its revenue from climate solutions: expanding the electrical grid and building smart, energy efficient buildings.

Kelani Cables sells a mix of grid-relevant products (power/HV cables, bare conductors, ABC) alongside extensive low-voltage, telecom and consumer electrical lines, but company filings disclose total revenues without a product/segment split, so the revenue share attributable to grid items cannot be determined.

Cable Solutions PLC generates a majority of its revenue from building and selling cabling that is used for expanding the electrical grid, installing solar systems, or EV chargers, all climate solutions.

Kelani Valley Plantations PLC generates most of its revenue from tea and rubber with 1% coming from its small owned hydropower

Hatton Plantations PLC owns a small hydropower plant and generated about 1% of its revenue from it.

While Hayleys Fibre PLC does generate some revenue from making coconut coir bags for erosion control, this is not a direct climate solution, so we exclude them.

Laxapana PLC generates a majority of its revenue from selling and distributing LED light bulbs that generate the same light with far less electricity.

Elpitiya Plantations PLC generated most of its revenue from growing tea. While tea is a perennial crop, it's not a staple (like rice or wheat), but a luxury, so we exclude it.

Horana Plantations PLC generates most of its revenue from tea, which while perennial, is not a staple crop.

Renuka Foods PLC mainly generates revenue from operating its coconut plantations. While coconuts are a perennial crop, they are not a staple and can contribute to deforestation.

CIC Holdings PLC operates primarily by offering fertilizer, but not necessarily reducing inputs for agriculture or avoiding runoff, so we do not include it.

While Alumex PLC does generate some revenue from recycled metals, and some of their clients are climate solutions like solar farms, they do not use over 50% recycled metals in their feedstock, so we exclude them.

Lanka Aluminium Industries PLC does not disclose any numbers for what % of their feedstock is from recycled inputs so we exclude them.

Bukit Darah PLC generates a lot of revenue from its beverage business, which generally operates on returned bottles, a form of recycling. But this is not enabling the climate solution of recycling, or using a majority of recycled inputs, so we exclude it.

Dipped Products PLC operates primarily makes rubber gloves. It does say that 0.8% of its revenue comes from recycled products, but this falls short of our 50% threshold.

While ACL Plastics PLC does generate some revenue from recycling, they do not disclose what % of their feedstock is from recycled inputs, so we exclude them.

We wanted to look at United Motors Lanka to see if they generated meaningful revenue from distributing second hand auto parts which we would consider recycling. They do not, so we exclude them.

C. W. Mackie PLC generates ~13% of its revenues from products related to refrigerants and they do not discuss low-GHG refrigerants, so we exclude them.

While Dialog Axiata PLC does generate some revenue from helping telecoms power integrate solar panels, it is a small fraction of its overall revenue mix.

While Singer (Sri Lanka) PLC does generate some revenue from selling solar systems and also a low GHG refrigeration product (awesome!) they are a generic home appliance company and they do not disclose how much they make from these two climate solutions vs. their other products and services.
