Cleen Energy, based out of Austria, specializes in offering renewable energy services to Germanic-speaking markets. They also sell heat pumps and energy storage units

Verbund is the largest electricity provider in Austria with the vast majority of its electricity coming from zero carbon sources like hydro, solar, and wind.

Kostad is an Austrian holding company that owns an electric vehicle charging company, which again is true in our 2025 review.

Burgenland Energy is an Austrian electrical utility. While they strongly promote renewable energy, we could not confirm their full generation mix, so we exclude them as of our 2025 review.

Wienerberger is an Austrian provider of construction materials. While they make some products for water management and HVAC, they are a small part of their revenue.

Mayr-Melnhof Karton is an Austrian producer of kraft paper that produces some but not a majority of its products from recycled materials so we exclude them as of our 2025 review.

Zumtobel is an Austrian high-end lighting company that uses LEDs, meaning their products can produce the same or better light for less energy. They also provide lighting automation and management solutions that can further enhance energy efficiency.

AMS-OSRAM is an Austrian semiconductor and lighting firm. As of our 2025 review, they generate most of their revenue from semiconductors, so we exclude them.

Infrabel is a Belgian train logistics company that primarily focuses on rail freight rather than passenger movement so we exclude them again in our 2025 review.

Biotalys makes innovative protein-specific crop protection products for agriculture. It also is planning to make products that extend the shelf life of produce, thus reducing food waste, but that has not launched yet, which is again true in our 2025 review.

Etex is a Belgian construction supply company that makes insulation products but provides no clear breakdown of much revenue they generate from them vs their other construction materials like roofing and siding as of our 2025 review.

SNCB SA is the national railway of Belgium, deriving 100% of its revenue from mass transit of passengers, an important climate solution

Umicore generated 51% of their revenue from recycling metals and also focuses on providing other emissions control technologies.

Kabelwerk is a Belgian producer of electrical wires, some of which are used in the expanding the electrical grid, but they also make plastic piping and foam products. As of our 2025 review, they fail to provide a breakdown of revenue from each, so we exclude them.

Recticel is a Belgian manufacturer of insulation that generates a majority of its revenue from thermal (as opposed to acoustic) insulation that helps buildings keep a more stable internal temperature.

Cenergy Holdings makes high transmission cables and steel pipes with a majority of their revenue coming from the electricity cables that are needed to expand the grid, as of our 2025 review.

Total Petrochemicals and Refining makes a variety of plastics for a variety of uses. They do not make any bioplastics as far as we can tell, so we exclude them.

Deceuninck is a Belgian producer of high quality windows that significantly reduce the energy needed to keep a building at a stable internal temperature. A high amount of their windows are also from recycled sources.
